Margaret Lawhon Schott

Founder/Owner/Manager

Margaret Lawhon Schott is a Baton Rouge-based creative with a career spanning broadcast journalism, acting, and writing. A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, she spent more than two decades as a professional journalist, serving as medical reporter for WBRZ-TV in Baton Rouge. In that role, she earned five Excellence in Medical Reporting Awards and three Awards of Merit from the Louisiana State Medical Society and the East Baton Rouge Parish Medical Society, and in 1996 received the prestigious Jacques I. Minnotte Fellowship Award for Medical Reporting from the national Radio and Television News Directors Association.

Her screen credits include Déjà Vu, Runaway Jury, and The East. She is also a published author whose debut thriller, The Poydras Project, was praised as a page-turner by The Advocate (Baton Rouge). She is married to Baton Rouge attorney Martin A. Schott.

Now, Margaret brings every chapter of her life together in her most personal venture yet: CINQ FEMMES.

Who are we?

We are a team of creative collaborators, merging our specific gifts in pursuit of fresh combinations of the traditional and the avant-garde, unexpected uses for heirloom treasures, and curated expressions of taste and preferences in staging events in the States and in France.

Why the namec CINQ FEMMES/FIVE WOMEN?

The number five refers to Margaret Lawhon Schott, Owner/Manager; and four talented young women who are daughters of her heart: Elisabeth Lamotte, Catherine Evans, Margaret Russo and Caroline Bienvenu. The number five also reflects our multi-faceted passion at VF: the French language, Fashion & Fabrics, Food & Dining, Fine Art, Finding treasures.

Why the logo “VF?”

The “V” represents the Roman numeral five and the “F” is for the French word for women, “femmes.” We love the look of the “VF” symbol with its elegance and simplicity, and we hope you do, too!
